About me
I am Peter Davidse a Dutch guy living in Norway and the owner of the site www.vanntur.com.
Almost all of my life i have fished; with a cane rod and float, a spinning rod and sea fishing rods.
My fly fishing career started when i loaned the flyrod my brother bought and took it with me to Sweden, this was around 2001.
It struck me that it was not that easy as i thought it was and tried to find someone who was willing to learn me the basics, i found a teacher from the "fiske akademi" in Forshaga prepared to help me.
I found out i was not a natural talent, but he managed to teach me the principles.
In Dalsland, Sweden i cought a perch and a roach on the fly and was hooked!
This boasted my interrest in fly fishing and from then on my weapon to beat the fish is a fly rod.
Soon after my first flyfishing experiance in Sweden and Norway i started to tie flies.
Through a series of events me and my loved ones ended up living in Åmot kommune in 2006 and i soon found my way in the region.
This paved the way to join the "Rena guidene" who recently changed their name to fishfinders, a guidepool for the Åmot area.
In 2008 i deceided to build my own website dedicated to fishing and nature in Åmot kommune.
The site focusses on the information fishermen need to find their way in the region and to attract attention to my guiding activaties.
Some fact about me:
- born in 1966 in Vlissingen, The Netherlands
- speaks Dutch, English, Norwegian and understands German and Swedish
- i have to sons, one keen fisherman and one who isn't
- we have two cats named Joep and Dikkie Dik
- i am a IT professional and work in Elverum at the Hedmark University College
- my passion is fly fishing and enjoying all the good Norway has to offer
- in 2007 i passed my hunting exam and am licenced to use firearms for hunting and training purposes
